About the course

Explore the fundamentals of drawing by bringing awareness to rhythm, proportions, and form.

Whether you’ve hesitated to begin drawing or are looking to expand your own practice this course will open up your perception as you learn about simple concepts that will help you move toward developing more complex drawings.

This course will focus on fundamentals using both studies of simple still life objects and imaginative exercises to help grasp basic concepts of drawing. Although you will develop relevant skills along the way, the aim is not to produce academic drawings, but more to bring deeper awareness and clarity - or “seeing” - when drawing from life or producing ideas from imagination. It is a sculptural approach to drawing but is relevant to all art forms and underpins the great traditions.

It's suitable for beginners and intermediate students as you will be guided at your own particular level and pace to develop your skills and perception within a small class environment.
